Welcome Albert Haynesworth to the NFC East

Redskins owner Danny Synder is getting back to his previous ways of opening his fat wallet in free agency. They made the first big splash in free agency with a dumptruck full of cash for Tennessee defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth. Haynesworth is the new $100 million man and new upgrade to the Redskins defense.

He adds an interior boost to a defense that was already impressive and was ranked fourth in the NFL last season. But the Redskins did struggle in the pass rush department finishing with just 24 sacks (28th in the NFL). Haynesworth expects to make that change and is coming off a career-high 8.5 sacks this past season.

Also have to wonder what Cowboys center Andre Gurode is thinking right now. Gurode now faces Haynesworth twice a season. The last time they met, Haynesworth used Gurode's face as a doormat after knocking off his helmet in a 2006 meeting in Tennessee. Haynesworth drew a five-game suspension for the vicious act and Gurode got a face full of stitches.

I was at that game I looooov ya Southern Folks!!!

As a Nashville resident these past ten years, I've watched Albert grow from that horrible incident. I was one who thought he could have been, and maybe should have been, banned for life after that, BUT the man got the message and turned himself around and will be missed in Nashville, not only as a football player, but as a citizen who does the right thing in giving back more often than not. This is one Cowboy fan who's not all that happy to see him in the NFC East. He can be beaten on the field, but if you don't beat him on the field, eventually he will destroy you, and do so with far more class, but no less destruction than was displayed on the field that terrible day.

well this is good because washington just got a 100 million dollar speed bump for leonard davis.

The reason why Haynesworth stomped Andre in the face is because he got tired of getting his butt kicked all over the field. The Cowboys were rushing the ball right at the Titans DT with great success. The Redskins overpaid for a guy with low character. Now that he is paid he will not play with the same intensity.
