Cowboys bolster secondary depth

Cowboys bolster secondary depth

With safety Alan Ball and safety Mike Hamlin injured and the plan to rest cornerback Terence Newman and possibly Orlando Scandrick and Mike Jenkins against the Vikings, the Cowboys made moves Monday to bolster their depth in the secondary.

The Cowboys claimed cornerback/safety DeAngelo Willingham off waivers from Tampa Bay and they signed cornerback Jeremy Haynes. Haynes was cut earlier in camp by Tennessee.

The Cowboys now have 78 players on the roster and must make three moves by Tuesday.

They can gain to spots by moving guard Robert Brewster and linebacker Brandon Williams to injured reserve. Both are sidelined for the season with injuries. They would then need to just make one cut.
