The Cowboys are calling Marion Barber's injury a quad strain, but they aren't sure yet how serious it is. Barber had an MRI done at about 11 a.m. Monday. Results should be known tomorrow.
Barber was seen walking around Valley Ranch Monday morning, but he did not stop by the locker room during the 45-minute interview session. He also seemed to hustle pretty good out of the locker room Sunday night. But that doesn't mean that there isn't more involved in terms of playing in a football game.
"A quad injury, I guess I'll call it an injury right now because we don't know the extent of it,'' Phillips said at his Monday press briefing. "We'll have to wait and see on that.''
Barber was galloping toward the end zone when his long run came to an abrupt end at the 7-yard line. He fell to the ground, looking like he had just been shot in the left leg. First thought was hamstring injury.
Barber rushed for 118 yards on 24 carries and a touchdown and he ripped off several big runs. Felix Jones had seven carries for 96 yards and a TD, giving him 13 carries in two games.
