Cowboys get to 75

On the Monday the Cowboys claimed cornerback DeAngelo Willingham off of waivers and signed free agent cornerback Jeremy Haynes. The team also released wide receiver Julian Hawkins, placed linebacker Brandon Williams on Reserve/Injured and moved tackle Robert Brewster to Reserved PUP.

This gives the club the mandated 75 players on their roster. The team must get to 53 players on Saturday, the day after finishing up the preseason at Minnesota.

Willingham signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent out of Tennessee following the 2009 NFL Draft. He was released by the Bucs after the third preseason game.

Haynes, a rookie free agent signed with the Tennessee Titans after the 2009 NFL Draft out of McNeese State. He played in the Titans first preseason game, but did record any stats, before his release on August 11.

Hawkins was signed by the Cowboys in May 1 as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Boise State. He played in the first preseason game but did not record any stats and was active but did not play in the next two preseason games.

Williams, a fourth-round draft pick (120th overall) in the 2009 Draft out of Texas Tech by the Cowboys, tore the ACL in his left in the preseason game against the Tennessee Titans.

Brewster was drafted in the third round (75th overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys out of Ball State. He injured his right shoulder pectoral muscle before the team left for training camp and was placed on Active PUP on August 5.
