Long training camp grind for Cowboys

Training camp is always a grind for the players, but this summer will really put the Cowboys to the test. With five preseason games and a split training camp, it is going to be longer than usual.

The Cowboys will begin camp in San Antonio. That much we know. The logistics still have to be worked out, but they will are expected to finish camp in California. The Cowboys will play an extra preseason game, participating in the Hall of Fame Game against the Bengals. They will play one preseason game on the West Coast, and another (the fourth) in Houston.

"I think our team has to have that type of mentality; they have to be adjustable enough if it's in training camp to do something, or change [practice sites like] we had last year," Cowboys coach Wade Phillips said. "We had to bus to here and there and those kinds of things. It was something you have to deal with, because you're going to have to deal with that if you're the Dallas Cowboys. You’re going to be on TV a lot of different time schedules. Regimen is what you like as a coach and as a player but it's not going to be that way with this team.

"If we did that [had a split camp], we have to adjust to that."
