On the Cowboys depth chart, four-year veteran tackle Pat McQuistan is listed as Flozell's Adams' backup. There has been no speculation that McQuistan might take over for Adams -- obviously Doug Free and a the-best-left-tackle-available-at-No. 27 are the leading candidates. But I spoke with McQuistan's agent and was told that the Cowboys have been in touch about finalizing a contract. The Cowboys gave McQuistan a tender offer worth $1.176 million. His agent would not speculate but also said he wouldn't be surprised if something happens with McQuistan next week.
The 6-6, 317-pound McQuistan was inactive for the first nine games last season. He was a seventh-round pick out of Weber State in 2006. He has yet to start a game in his career.
