Almost famous

Well, not yet. But Notre Dame offensive tackle Sam Young, who the Cowboys selected in the sixth round of the draft, does not rank high on the list of distinguished graduates for his high school.

Young went to St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., the school that educated, among others, Cowboy Michael Irvin, tennis great Chris Evert, the late Chicago Bear running back Brian Piccolo, actor Billy Crudup (who starred in, by the way "Almost Famous," and Olympic track Gold medalist Sanya Richards.

If young eventually becomes as famous as his high school predecessors, the Cowboys will have obviously benefited from his services.
