Brooking hoping to be back for minicamp

Starting inside linebacker Keith Brooking will begin running today and hopes his left knee is healed enough that he can return for the team’s minicamp June 11-13.
Dr. Daniel Cooper performed arthroscopic surgery on Brooking’s left knee to clean out floating fragments. It is the third surgery Brooking has had on that knee, he said.
“If it was the regular season, I would have already been back,” Brooking said after watching Monday’s OTAs. “But why rush it? They’re being very careful, because the risk is greater than the reward at this point.”
Brooking transitioned into the weight room Monday and will begin running today.
