Wade likes Brandon Williams

Cowboys coach Wade Phillips continues to praise Brandon Williams, the South Hills High School-ex, who missed last season with a knee injury. Williams is competing for playing time at linebacker and has performed well.

“He’s done a good job so far in the rush technique,” Phillips said. “We’re excited about him last year at this time and he looks like he’s taking up where he left off last year. And he’s a little stronger cross the top which I think is going to help him.

“He’s very quick off the ball and has good pass rush feel and I think he’s learned the techniques that we’re trying to tech. I feel good about him. We will put him in the game and see how he does. If he can be a guy that can not only hold up but more than that, we’ll play him more.”
