Buehler showing consistency

David Buehler made all six of his field-goal attempts against a stiff wind Wednesday, hitting from 30, 35, 39, 42 and 44 yards.

Wade Phillips said Tuesday that Buehler, the kickoff specialist last season, still had to earn his job. That despite the fact that he is the only kicker in camp. Owner Jerry Jones said he is optimistic that Buehler will be the kicker for the Cowboys this season, based on Buehler's consistency in training camp.

"I don’t want to preempt Joe [DeCamillis] or Wade, but I sure am optimistic about Buehler," Jones said. "I thought he kicked the ball really good today. I thought he really powered the ball in there, and we had a lot of wind, and you needed a lot of leg to make those field goals that he made today. That was a good thing to see today, and he’s got good timing. It's the kinds of things they look at to determine how he’s progressing. My thoughts are all systems are on go with Buehler."
