Oxnard _ Safety Gerald Sensabaugh will be out until at least the season opener with a subluxation in his shoulder, a magnetic resonance imaging exam revealed on Sunday.
Sensabaugh was injured in the first quarter of Saturday's preseason game against the Chargers. X-rays taken at halftime were negative. The MRI revealed nothing more than the Cowboys medical staff saw during the game _ a separated shoulder that popped out and back in.
The injury will take at least three to rehab, putting his availability for the Sept. 12 opener at the Redskins in limbo. According to a source, it's mostly a matter of how much pain Sensabaugh can handle because the injury won't be healed by then.
Sensabaugh is now the fourth starter to be sidelined until at least the opener, joining guard Kyle Kosier, defensive end Marcus Spears and tackle Marc Colombo.
