The Cowboys are traveling to San Diego on Amtrak and the media is tagging along. Being a veteran of train travel, while the rest of the media waited in a large group at one door, I went to the back of the train and boarded by myself. So I was able to get the seat of my choice and I tried to stay away from some of the louder people.
Didn't work. Galloway found me and parked two rows back. It's not so much that he annoying, but he keeps singing "Casey Jones" by the Grateful Dead. About every five minutes or so, he'll break out and sing, "Drivin' that train;' high on cocaine," and I don't want to say that he's not a great singer, but Jerry Garcia is rumbling in his grave.
Regardless, trains are wonderful to travel on -- certainly better than fighting those California freeways and driving through L.A.
And for the moment, Randy's quiet.

I'll never understand why more teams don't ride the rails.
The NE Corridor, the sunny West Coast and Chicagoland are full of great options and there's no doubt a serendipitous deal couldn't be struck between the leagues and Amtrak.
Better that rubber wheels.
Better (on shorter trips) than air.
