Dez to be the punt returner Sunday

Dez Bryant will get the first crack as the team’s punt returner, and Felix Jones is expected to receive the first kickoff of the season, a source said.

 

Bryant, who did not play in the preseason because of a high-ankle sprain, scored three touchdowns on 22 punt returns at Oklahoma State and averaged 19.6 yards a return. The Cowboys also have had Akwasi Owusu-Ansah and Terence Newman working as punt returners. Patrick Crayton was the team’s primary punt returner last season, averaging 12.1 yards on 36 punt returns while scoring twice.

 

Jones led the team with 30 kickoff returns last season, posting a 22.6 average. He had a long return of 41 yards. Bryant, Owusu-Ansah and Kevin Ogletree also have worked as kickoff returners.

@SKU...dont worry these are well conditioned professional athletes and trust me he would be able to go fifty right after going fifty in a punt or kick return buddy I know cause i've done it and wasn't near as a conditioned athlete as they are although i was very conditioned!! He's young and hungry so let him do all he can and wants to do while he can..every touch means one more chance of him going the distance for another TD and Dez scores from what i've seen about 30% of the time he touches the ball so let him touch it as much as he wants i say..lol GO BOYS!!!! Akwasi Owusu-Ansah should have the job all buy him self. we don't need DEZ or jones to be at the bottom of some pile getting his leg's tore up....besides would you realy think after running back 30 yrd punt. DEZ can on the next play break for 50 yrd pass.no he cant get his wind back that fast..
