Patrick Crayton has been traded to the San Diego Chargers, his agent says

Wide receiver Patrick Crayton has been traded to the San Diego Chargers, his agent Fred Lyles said Friday afternoon.

"I haven't seen him this excited in while," Lyles said. "It's a done deal."

Crayton has been moved for a seventh round pick, according to Lyles.

The Cowboys have yet to comment.

It would be a good fit as the offense is similar to the Cowboys and it won't be a steep learning curve.

This is the end of an ordeal that began last spring when the Cowboys put Crayton on the trading block following the drafting of first round pick Dez Bryant. The former Oklahoma State star was going to replace Crayton is the No. 3 receiver and the primary punt returner.

The Cowboys did not want to pay Crayton his $2 million salary to be the team's fourth receiver and also be a candidate to be inactive on game day.

Crayton knew as much which is why he stayed away from the team's offseason program and missed OTAs before returning for minicamp. He said the Cowboys were keeping him around as an insurance policy to get through training camp and would dump him before the start of the season.

Crayton proved to be correct.

Goodbye, Pat. You will be missed. Both as a good football player and good teammate. Also, congrats on the move to a better playing-time situation (hopefully).

San Diego is a beautiful area and the Bolts are also a legitimate SB contender like the 'Boyz. I honestly believe you can be a #2 WO there and make better numbers and hopefully a bigger contract.

Only problem I see is the high cost of living out there. A $2 million/yr salary there is like a $200K/yr salary here in Dallas.

Therefore, I hope you chose to keep a home here in Big D Pat.

Best Wishes,

John

This has got to be the worst management team in the NFL. They're clueless business people, not football minds. Why would you trade PC over $2M measley dollars????? And I say measley because RW is making so much more and giving you much, much less. You people are mindless over there.
