Hodge eligible to come off PUP

Former TCU linebacker Stephen Hodge is eligible to come off the physically unable to perform list today. The Cowboys will have until Nov. 8 to call him up, and, once they do, they will have three weeks for him to practice. After that, they have a decision to make -- release him, place him on injured reserve, or add him to the 53-player roster.

Hodge has not played in even a preseason game and has barely practiced since the Cowboys made him a sixth-round pick in 2009. He had microfracture knee surgery more than a year ago and continues to rehab from that.

The Cowboys drafted Hodge for his special teams abilites, hoping that he could become the next Bill Bates.

If Hodge can fully rehab from the surgery he can become a force to be reckoned with for Dallas. He has great instincts and is definitely a playmaker.

Good luck, Stephen! Hope to see you wearing the star soon!
