Former SMU cornerback Bryan McCann didn't get called up from the practice squad to sit idly on the sidelines for depth purposes in case ailing cornerback Terence Newman's rib cartilage tear got the best of him again.
No, McCann will make an immediate impact on special teams against the Packers Sunday. He will serve as the primary kickoff returner in place of the injured Akwasi Owusu-Ansah, who is out four to six weeks with a high ankle sprain. McCann will also start on the kickoff and punt coverage teams.
Clarence E. Hill

If we had Flozell our offensive line might be better, if we had Carpenter we might be able to cover a RB on passing downs or even a kick or punt. If we had Crayton we might have a strong kickoff or punt returner. If Jerry would draft players we need instead of trading for players no one wants we might be 6-1 instead of 1-6.

If you don't believe anyone can do worse, then you clearly don't remember Robert Lavette and Rod (East-West) Hill.

The Cowboys really need a change at kickoff return. Akwasi Owusu-Ansah seems to go nowhere. Maybe McCann can do better because I believe he can't do worse.
