Owner Jerry Jones made it pretty clear that he has no plans on giving up on the season and turning to third string quarterback Stephen McGee in an effort to evaluate him for the future.
Jones said he believes 37-year old Jon Kitna gives them the best chance to win until injured starter Tony Romo returns. Romo is out with a broken collarbone until possibly the second to the last game of the season. And while there was talk of the Cowboys putting him in injured reserve, Jones is now talking about potentially getting Romo back on the field.
“At this juncture, I wouldn’t guess on that,” Jones said when asked on his weekly radio show on KRLD-FM when he would play McGee. “We have eight games left. We are going to play to win every game. And Kitna gives us the best chances to win. Kitna can play quarterback and give us a chance to win. As we move forward, Tony will get better and we will have potential to have him. I can’t answer your question (on McGee).”
