The Cowboys did not have a player win any of the weekly honors in the NFL, but they did have an impact on the awards. New Orleans cornerback Malcolm Jenkins was named defensive player of the week for his play on Thanksgiving against Dallas.
Jenkins had four tackles, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in the Saints’ 30-27 win. Jenkins caused what turned out to be the game-winning turnover when he wrestled the ball away from Roy Williams after a 47-yard pass play late in the fourth quarter. The Saints then drove 89 yards for the winning TD.
