The Cowboys have called a press conference for 1:30 p.m. at Cowboys Stadium to officially name Jason Garrett as the head coach.
Garrett was the interim coach for the last eight games of the season and went 5-3. The delay in naming him was to comply with NFL rules and interview minority candidates. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones interviewed receivers coach Ray Sherman and Miami assistant head coach Todd Bowles.
But Garrett has long been a favorite of Jones and after his performance as the interim head coach, he was the overwhelming favorite to get the job.
