Cowboys met with Cam Newton on Friday night. No more meetings set.

By Clarence E. Hill Jr.

Indianapolis _ Auburn quarterback Cam Newton acknowledged on Saturday that he did meet with the Cowboys Friday night at his NFL scouting combine hotel.

The interview was consistent with owner Jerry Jones' statement on Thursday that the Cowboys were indeed considering the 2010 Heisman Trophy winner for the ninth overall pick in the draft.

Newton, who is also being considered for the first overall pick by the Carolina Panthers and the Buffalo Bills at No. 3, declined elaborate on his visit from the Cowboys. He said he is interested in going to any team that is interested in him.

"I did have a meeting with the Cowboys last night for 15 minutes. It was one of those teams that I did speak with. As far as any teams right now … I'm not going to get particular (about) which teams that I'm interested in because right now I'm interested in every single team that's in the NFL who's willing to take me as a player."
