Ware a candidate for Madden 12 cover

Cowboys linebacker DeMarcus Ware is in the running to appear on the cover of EA Sports Madden 12. Fans will decide who wins the honor with a bracket-style voting campaign. Each of the 32 teams has a candidate, and fans' votes will determined which players advance through the seeded bracket.

The winner will be revealed April 27 at 3 p.m. on ESPN's SportsNation. Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, coming off his Super Bowl win, is the player to beat.

Fans can vote at www.espn.com/maddenvote.

The only question for Cowboys' fans is: Do you want Ware winning? There is the dreaded Madden Curse to consider. Since 1999, when EA Sports began putting a player on the cover, many of the cover boys have experienced an injury and/or a decline in performance. But Drew Brees did OK for himself last season after appearing on the cover.
