If the NFL has a preseason, the Cowboys now know who they will play. They will host the Broncos and the Chargers the first two weeks before traveling to Minnesota and then Miami to close out the exhibition season.
The game against the Broncos would be played the weekend of Aug. 12-14, with the San Diego game a week later, on the weekend of Aug. 19-21. The trip to Minnesota would take place the weekend of Aug. 26-28. The final preseason game usually is on a Thursday, which would be Sept. 1.
The Cowboys will not play the Houston Texans for the second time in three years. A scheduling conflict two years ago prevented the teams from playing in Houston. Last year, the teams met in Houston twice -- on Aug. 28 in the preseason and then four weeks later in the regular season.
The schedule, with no preseason games scheduled for California, seems to indicate the Cowboys will not split their training camp between San Antonio and California, if there is a training camp. Last year, the Cowboys started training camp in San Antonio before going to Oxnard, Calif. They also played a preseason game in San Diego before coming home. They have a year remaining on their contract with San Antonio, so at least part of training camp has to be in San Antonio if there is a training camp.
Game 1 vs. Denver: Weekend of Aug 12-14
Game 2 vs. San Diego: Weekend of Aug 19-21
Game 3 at Minnesota: Weekend of Aug 26-28
Game 4 at Miami: Historically on a Thursday (Sept. 1)
