Tony Romo has had his hands full organizing the player-only workouts for his 40-plus teammates. He’s left the planning of his wedding to his fiancée, Candice Crawford.
The Cowboys quarterback will marry Crawford on Saturday night at the historic Arlington Hall at Lee Park in uptown Dallas.
“Candice has gotten a lot of help from a lot of people,” Romo said Monday at the opening of the TopGolf entertainment complex in Allen. “I go and put my two cents in whenever there is music to be determined or things of that nature.”
Romo, 31, and Crawford have been dating since late in 2009. He proposed in December, on her 24th birthday, at Five Sixty restaurant in Dallas.
“Candice is a great girl,” Romo said. “…It’s been fun. When you know, you know. It’s a pretty easy decision.”
Romo said he was “ready” for his big day. Tight end Jason Witten is among teammates who have offered advice.
“I’m excited for him, because he’s marrying a real sweet girl,” Witten said. “This is an exciting time in his life.”
Romo was asked if he would have as many butterflies Saturday as he does on any given Sunday. “I don’t know. It’s coming up, so we’ll see,” he said.
