Tony Romo will tee off at 7:40 a.m. Monday in a local U.S. Open qualifier. If he advances at McKinney’s Stonebridge Ranch Country Club’s Dye Course, then the Cowboys quarterback will play sectional qualifying at Dallas Athletic Club.
The U.S. Open is June 16-19 at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Md.
Romo advanced to sectional qualifying last year, taking one of seven spots in the local qualifier in a three-hole playoff at Honors Golf Club. He withdrew from the 36-hole sectional qualifier in The Woodlands after two lightning delays. Romo was 7-over when he left despite shooting a 71 on the first 18 holes, which had him tied for 10th.
