Five-time Pro Bowl center Andre Gurode declined to discuss his situation with the Cowboys following Saturday's game against the Vikings _ a game he was held out of because the Cowboys are trying to trade him or make him take a pay cut.
There is a possibility he could be released as well.
When asked what owner Jerry Jones called a business decision, Gurode declined comment.
But when asked about the other centers on the Cowboys roster, particularly Phil Costa who is been tabbed as his replacment, Gurode was complimentary.
"Phil has done a good job," Gurode said. "He is playing well and it's showing."
Asked if he was playing well enough to replace a five-time Pro Bowler and a person ranked No. 57 on the NFL Network's list of top 100 players in the NFL for 2011, Gurode refused to bite.
"You not going to get me to say anything," Gurode replied.
Gurode is due a $5.5 million salary this season. He would cost $1.6 million against the cap this year this and $1.6 million next year if he is traded or cut.
Of course Cowboys save nearly $4 million in cap space this year if he was no longer on the roster.
