Cowboys, Chargers are going to practice, not scrimmage

The Cowboys and Chargers aren't going to be heavy-hitting in their practices Thursday and Friday, although they will get in some team drills on Friday that stress situation football.

It will look a lot like the Blue-White scrimmage in San Antonio, Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said.

“Thursday’s practice at Valley Ranch will look more like a regular football practice,” Garrett said. “Friday’s practice will look more like that situational work we had when we worked against each other a couple of weeks ago. We’re not going to be tackling to the ground. It’s not a scrimmage. It’s a practice.

“But both organizations feel like it’s a good opportunity to just work against another team, see some different looks, see some different players and just see how our players and our team responds to it.”

Thursday's practice is at 9 a.m. at Valley Ranch. Friday's practice is at 2:30 at Cowboys Stadium. Both are closed to the public, but the Friday work can be watched by stadium tour guests.

The teams play a preseason game on Sunday night at Cowboys Stadium.
