Cowboys will try to double play time for starters Sunday against Chargers

Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said he expects to play his starters about twice as much as they played last week.

The Cowboys play the San Diego Chargers in the second preseason game on Sunday night. The Cowboys’ first offense ran a 10-play drive to a field goal in the preseason opener against Denver and was finished for the night. The starting defense played one series, also.

“I can’t guarantee you a play number or a time in the game when they’re coming out, but we anticipate them playing longer,” Garrett said. “Hopefully into the second quarter, maybe double the snaps.”
