Forbath, Carter put on reserve non-football injury list

The Cowboys placed kicker Kai Forbath and linebacker Bruce Carter on the reserve non-football injury list. The players now do not count against the team's 80-player roster limit.

The rules of the reserve/non-football injury list are the same as reserve/physically unable to perform (PUP). Neither player will be eligible to return to the roster before Week 7.

Carter was the team's second-round draft pick. He torn an ACL in his knee while playing for the University of North Carolina against North Carolina State on Nov. 20. He still is rehabbing. Forbath had a quadriceps injury when the Cowboys signed him Aug. 2. He has yet to kick.

The Cowboys have 80 players on their roster. The next cutdown, to 53, is Sept. 3.
