Defensive end Marcus Spears was injured on Philip Rivers touchdown pass to tight end Randy McMichael early in the second quarter when Spears' foot stuck in the ground. But he said he doesn't need an MRI on his groin injury.
"I'll be back soon, real soon," Spears said. "It's just a little strain. Ain't nothing too serious."
Spears, who did not have any tackles Sunday night, said he probably would play in next week's game if it was the regular season. Since it's the preseason, it's probably a good guess that Spears will miss the Minnesota game Saturday night.
Linebacker Sean Lee had his right hand wrapped in the locker room after the game, but he said it was nothing major.
"Yeah, typically football stuff," Lee said. "I’ve got a little bent thumb. Just typical."
