Bad snaps because of simulated snap count, Costa said

The Cowboys had four errant snaps against the Redskins. It caused for a lot heated discussions on the field and on the sideline with most of the anger directed at center Phil Costa.
But Costa said the problem was caused by the Redskins defense yelling simulated snap counts, and the Cowboys believe the officials should have stepped in to stop it.
"We've got to get the snap thing worked out," quarterback Tony Romo said. "Costas said the D line kept calling the snap count. We'll tell the league. You're not supposed to be able to do that."

@Brando44: The refs did not do a bad job. Doesn't matter if they are old or young they are going to miss a few calls. That one call on Moss I believe was bad but Garrett chose not to challenge it. They blew the call when Ware was tackled when he was about to sack Grossman. Don't know about the snap count because Costa was the only one who could hear the Redskins "simulate" the snap count. If they (the Redskins) were doing this what was to prevent the Cowboys from also doing the same thing? If the refs behind the QB and cannot hear Washington do this then they certainly would not be able to hear the Cowboys return the favor. And this was not the only game Costa has had a problem snapping the ball at the right time. I am more inclined to believe it is just "rookie-itous" on Costa's part and experience will settle him down.

Because they have moved that official behind the QB except in two minute drill...seems like a lot of things are being missed around the league and it makes sense that would be one. No one is in position to hear the defense doing that and smart on Washington to figure that out.

But there is NO excuse for them missing that Ware rush where he got tackled from behind in the open with TWO officials behind the QB.

Ridiculous along with that very clean, very nasty hit on Moss. That was textbook and they give 15 yards...that could've been very costly.

The refing was pathetic. The NFL needs work on younger better refs.
