The Cowboys released offensive tackle Sam Young to make room for new offensive guard Derrick Dockery.
But it might not be the end of the line with the Cowboys for Young, a sixth-round pick out of Notre Dame in 2010. He could be brought back and signed to the practice squad. Young, 24, played in two games last year, both on special teams.
Dockery, 31, is expected to provide immediate backup help at guard, where the Cowboys have rookie Bill Nagy starting.
