Jenkins says he's about 80 percent, vows to 'keep pushing'

Cornerback Mike Jenkins said he’s at about 80 percent health, but he’s ready to keep playing as long as he can.

“I don’t think I’m going to get better any time soon,” he said, giving reporters a bit of a smile. “So all I can do is keep pushing.”

Jenkins suffered a shoulder stinger in training camp on Aug. 1, and it kept him out of game action until the regular season opener. In that game, he suffered neck and knee injuries that sent him to the locker room, but he returned to finish the game.

Asked what’s bothering him most, Jenkins again smiled a little and said, “My body hurts. I feel like I’m still in camp. I’m pushing. I’m getting better day by day.”
