Tony Romo has had an up-and-down season so far, but the Cowboys aren't ready to give up on him, even if some fans are.
"If you're going to try to make the plays, then you've got a chance to have some bad plays," Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said. "However we go, we'll go with Tony. As Tony goes, we'll go."
Never has a more accurate statement been uttered after a game.
Romo's two fourth-quarter turnovers against the Jets led to the Cowboys blowing a 14-point, fourth-quarter lead in the season opener. He returned from a fractured rib to rally the Cowboys from a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit against the 49ers, and then led them to a victory over the Redskins.
On Sunday, Romo completed 34 of 47 passes for 331 yards and three touchdowns, but his three interceptions directly contributed to the biggest collapse in team history.
“He’s a competitor,” tight end Jason Witten said. “He’s a tough player. We’ve been down this road a lot with him this year, but I wouldn’t trade him for anybody in the world. I really wouldn’t. He’ll bounce back. …We believe in him. He’s our guy, and we’ll fight through it just like what we saw in New York. We just need to eliminate this rollercoaster of a ride, and that’s the next step for us.”
Cowboys' defenders were on the field for only 2:30 in the third quarter. Yet, the Lions outscored them 14-10 in the quarter with two interceptions returned for touchdowns.
"If you ask me, I’ll ride with Romo any day of the week," Cowboys cornerback Terence Newman said. "Because I know he’ll have my back, I’ve got his back."

Simmer down all you Romo Haters out there. Those 3 intereceptions thrown by Romo were 50% due to lack of arm strenth caused by his still broken ribs and a flap jacket, and 50% due to stupid receivers still not knowing their correct routes on some less used plays Romo happened to call, for God only knows what reasons, on those exact 3 interception plays.
You ever try to throw a football with broken ribs and a flap jacket? I have, and it hurts and you can't get the ball to where you want it to go. You have no arm strength till the rib heals 100%. Romo wanted to please Cowboys fans so badly that he tried to put the rock where he currently is not capable of putting it right now. 3 of his hero throws were intercepted. He admittedly was trying to be a hero out there with broken ribs because you cotton-picking fans demanded it!!! He did manage to get some good throws in during the first half and some in the second half, but, throwing with broken ribs eventually tires you out much faster than when healthy and the pain medication wears off and some of your tosses flutter and go soft. Maybe our receivers should have seen that and acted like Dbacks and knocked those balls out of 59, 23, and 55's hands before they arrived!! DO YA THINK?!!!
No, like Dirk Nowitzki, Romo's got the magic to get us to the Mountaintop. Just let his ribs heal for crying out loud will ya?!!! You all were blasting Dirk for 12 years just like you are blasting Romo right now. Stop it!
Next game in 2 weeks, Tony Romo's gonna be able to throw the rock with alot more zip on it. What do you think is gonna happen then? Do you fair weather fans feel better?

The only stat that matters is the final score -- period.

Romo's problem is that Romo believes he is an elite quarterback, when he is not. Elite quarterbacks play conservative when they have a big lead, not try to impress everyone with finesse passes. Nuff said.

Maybe like Morbius of Altair, the Cowboys are just too close to the problem to see it.
I don't dislike Romo, he can't help being stupid.
I do dislike JJ as he will not understand that you can't fix stupid.

A young team sees it leader lose 2 games for them with poor play. This will affect them all year because in the back of their mind when things start going downhill their confidence will crack.
They should have won this game and I feel if they did it would have provided them with a great boost in confidence and team unity.
Romo will not recover from this completely and will continue to have an up and down year. He will never win a championship in Dallas.
Finally, we need to start over in the running game and get a real back that can take over a game.

Then Jerry Jones, you are a fool. This guy has proven over and over and over that he is a choker. And in this case, he didn't even have to choke. He could have just handed the ball off and punted if they didn't get first downs. The Lions couldn't accomplish much in the first 17 minutes, and wouldn't have been able to overcome the 24 point deficit without all the help from your "hero" QB. What a joke the Cowboys have become. And I am a fan of 40 years.

Interpretation of Jerry's comment of staying with Romo?
"As long as the suckers - er - fans keep filling the stands, pay $40 parking and $8 popcorn, I couldn't care less what Romo does...."
