Special teams ace Danny McCray hopes to play Sunday

Safety Danny McCray sprained his ankle in the first quarter of the game against the Lions. He played through it and had no idea how bad it was until he got home and his ankle swelled on him.

"It didn't hit me til I got home and started watching the highlights," McCray said Monday.

He missed both practices last week, during the Cowboys' bye week, and was out again Monday. But he said he expects to play Sunday against the Patriots.

“I’m doing my rehab,” McCray said. “I went out there today and broke a little sweat to see how it felt, and it felt pretty good."

McCray, who led the team with 28 special teams tackles last season, has 10 special teams tackles this season.
