The Cowboys are getting ready to go with Barry Church at safety against the Dolphins if Gerald Sensabaugh can’t play, and that means putting extra emphasis on communication.
Church has played in the regular defense more regularly since Week 4, when he went in against the Detroit Lions because of injury. He also played linebacker against Seattle to make up for the absence of Sean Lee.
So the Cowboys have a comfort level with him. But it’ll still mean an adjustment if the Cowboys are playing without Sensabaugh.
“We’re going to get tested in our communication,” Ryan said. “But we do have Abe back there, and it all starts with him and Sean Lee. we’ll be fine. Barry Church has really grown. We’ll be OK.”
