Official injury report: Jones, Austin and Jenkins are out

Running back Felix Jones will miss his fourth consecutive game. He said Friday his high left ankle sprain is not ready yet, and the Cowboys have ruled him out of Sunday’s game.

Jones has missed the past three games with the injury. In Jones’ absence, rookie DeMarco Murray has run for 466 yards. It is the best three-game stretch in team history. Emmitt Smith’s best three-game run was 446 yards in 1993.

Receiver Miles Austin (hamstring) and cornerback Mike Jenkins (hamstring) also will not play this week. Right guard Kyle Kosier (foot), linebacker Sean Lee (wrist) and punter Mat McBriar (foot) are questionable.

OMG. Dude, you don't pay players based on injury. Are you really that stupid?? WTF kind of post was that. Good thing you're not out GM or even related to him. I woukd be worried that during Thanksgiving dinner you might have your dunce cap on and actually be foolish enough to pass along that ridiculous though. What a Neanderthal!!!

Hamies are a part of the game. Just look around the league. Bowling is a great sport, no hamies there, or Cheer Leaders.

Whats up with all the friggin hamstring injuries this year? if it isn't a ham its a groin. Im straight up sick of it. It's to the point that there needs to be a hamstring clause in half the Cowboys' contracts. Seriously- Miles Austin had a hamstring all thru camp, which screwed up his timing with Romo, and now he pulled it again. This is basically a wasted season for him. Has anyone ever heard of stretching? If I hear the word hamstring again this year, I'm gonna watch hockey. I'm serious- they shou take a players hamstrings into consideration when its time to re-up on a contract. Or find players that can just run without injuring themselves. Jerry says he's frustrated with the kicker- what about Miles and Jenkins missing over half their seasons just because they cant simply RUN without getting injured. UGH!!!

I agree with Steve as Murray seems to have taken over the job, not just due to injury, but he hits the holes quicker/better acceleration, has better top end speed & while it's only been 3 games so far, I think he can carry the ball over the course of the season better than FJ.

I would pencil in FJ as the back up the rest of the season, if & when he comes back, & for the future as well.

Jones being out seems a lot less worrisome. This Murray kid is the real deal!

Hate these guys can't go, but it gives their backups a chance to shine. Suit up who's healthy and ready to go and let's go play some football..

I think it is time to start rewarding players who get healthy and stay healthy. My goodness, they are paid big bucks to perform and do whatever it takes to carry their load on the field. I can't help but think and some coaches confirm, there is so much emphasis to build muscle that it sometimes puts too much strain on the smaller muscles and thus the proliferation of hamstring injuries as one example. C'mon Miles... get your butt on the field!
