Abe Elam back at Valley Ranch

Strong safety Abe Elam returned from Florida and was back at Valley Ranch on Friday morning.

Elam flew to Florida on Thursday to be with his family after learning of the death of his father.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones made his plane available for Elam, and Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said the organization offered whatever support it could.

“What we’ve tried to express to him is that he has great organizational support, support from his team, support from all his teammates and his coaches to help him try to get through it,” Garrett said. “Jerry, you know, has been very kind and generous enough to fly him back to Florida last night and get him back this morning. So he was able to be with his family last night.”
