Jerry repeats: Garrett’s the coach next year, ‘period, no matter the score’

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said again Friday that Jason Garrett’s job does not depend on the outcome of Sunday night’s game against the New York Giants.

The Cowboys and Giants play for the NFC East title amid speculation that the losing coach’s job is in jeopardy. But Jones, asked about it on his weekly radio show on KRLD 105.3 FM, said that speculation is “just ridiculous.”

He said, “As I’ve said earlier, and I think it expresses it very well, we’re just getting started with Jason, and it’s just not the case at all. We can go free-wheeling with anything we’re giong to do to ultimately do one thing, and that is win one ballgame. Nobody’s worried about the coach’s job here.”

No matter the score? Jones was asked.

“We’re going to answer this thing as many ways as you want to answer, with as many circumstances,” Jones said. “His job has no bearing and is not a part of this ballgame. Yes, he’s going to be our coach next year, period. No matter what the score is.”

Lets see next year holds if things aren't corrected let alone a deep run in the playoffs I think its time to change some of players and personnel ASAP !

What did I miss about direct tv??? Somebody please help out on the info?? Thanks

Yes on the Directv savings!!! YEAHHHHHHH won't be buying it again next year... the Cowboys will continue to be crap...Thanks Al Davis JR!!!

It does not matter one wit who Jerry hires or fires, until he gets a real football executive to build this team and NOT undermine the head coach, there will not be SB victory #6.

For once I feel sorry for JG, if Jaharry would fire him then he would have a chance to hook up with a team as a REAL HC and not have Jaharry pulling his strings and telling him how to run the team.

It's a moronic question generated by reactionary media. Garrett hasn't even had one full complete season with a training camp, AND he has a winning record so far. Good Lord, give the man some time to fix things.

Jerry continues to be dillusional. No way he stays status quo if they lose against the Giants Sunday night. Things will not change under his watch until the D/FW area media demand he change things. Such as replacing Garrett, Campo, Houck, Romo, Newman, Brookings, James, Ball, and a few others who have worn out their welcome at Valley Ranch.

That's good. At least Jones didn't add "...and beyond" in that statement.

This is good. I already know I don't have to fight with DirecTV about Sunday Ticket next year. That'll be two straight years that Jones has saved me hundreds of dollars for crap football.

Now how many owners will actually work to save the fan's money? LOL

That's to bad!

Smartest statement I've heard in awhile. Keep building.
