Safety Abe Elam played against the Cardinals three days after learning his father Rev. Donald Elam Sr. passed away.
He flew to Florida after practice on Thursday on owner Jerry Jones' private jet and then was back at practice Friday, flying with the team to Phoenix on Saturday for the 19-13 overtime loss.
With his dad's funeral set for Friday, Elam will likely have to endure another tough week leading up to Sunday's NFC East showdown against the Giants. Elam said he hasn't set his official travel plans for the funeral. But he said nothing was going to stop him from being here for the Giants game.
"I am thankful to have the support I have in the organization," Elam said. "They are behind me 100 percent in whatever decision I make. It's difficult but this is something I relish. My family here is really counting on me. I'm going to give them all I can. (The Giants game) means a lot to all of us."
