DeMarco Murray says his recovery is 'looking good,' praises Garrett

Running back DeMarco Murray said his recovery from a broken ankle is going fine, and he believes in coach Jason Garrett.

Speaking to reporters Monday for the first time since his season-ending injury on Dec. 11, Murray said of his rehab, “I’m doing fine. I’m just going along with what we planned. It’s looking good.”

Murray led the Cowboys with 897 yards and was on track to break Tony Dorsett’s club record 1,007 rushing yards by a rookie.

“I was given an opportunity, and I think I played well for the most part,” he said. “There is a lot of work that still needs to be done.”

Asked about owner Jerry Jones’ vote of confidence for Garrett, Murray said, “I love Coach Garrett. He’s a great coach, a great motivator and a great offensive coordinator.”

It is Jerry's team, and if he wants to go on the field, then he has that right. If I were owner I would do just as he does, except I would probably help coach. That's the beauty of ownership, and most people on here are not owners. Jerry isn't listening to any of you, because he knows more than you will ever know. He played the game, and he is a billionaire, and knows a few things about ownership. I heard he is the one responsible for ending the strike. The Steelers have the most superbowl wins with 6, the 49ers and Cowboys have 5, of those 5, Jerry is responsible for 3, and he will fix the defensive problems this year. If we do not make the playoffs, and contend next year for the superbowl, Garrett is gone. Watch and see! How many superbowls did Landry have, with Tex Schram as the GM? Only 2! Get over Jerry firing Landry, because it should have happened 3 years prior to that. The Cowboys have an almost completed puzzle, they have a great owner that spends money on players, they have a good young coach, they have one of the best QB's in the game, they have great offensive playmakers, and they have some solid defensive players. Another pass rusher, and some good cover corners, and the 'boys will be back on top!

Garret is fine, offence is not the problem right now. Strengthen the O-line, please! Fire everybody in the secondary except Elam and maybe Jenkins. Tell Brookins and James bye bye go after Briggs. Find a Unique nose guard and move Ratliff to tackle. Well thats a totally new defense that will hit some body!! We need some head hunters on D and we don't have any!!

The definition of Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. JJ is a great owner but a horrible GM. Jerry, stop letting your pride damage this team. The once proud Cowboys are now a joke. How many years since an NFC championship game? Cowboys = Insanity!

i agree 100% with luke0114. we also need a better pass rush. aside from ware's isolated sacks, we put NO pressure on the quarterback EVEN WHEN WE BLITZ!! and please plead with the networks and the press to limit Rob Ryan face time. the damn tv cameras are on him more than they are the players. he's unproven!

DeMarco get Better Man we need You;
Great Job as a Rookie.
I truly wish Mr. Jones get a Secondary that can Tackle and Gang Tackle as well.

First let Tarrence Newmen go, then let Coach Jasson Garrett go. Rip up Keith Brooking contract, bring in a veteran LB to work with Bradie James and Shawn Lee. Get your O Line together. Draft heavy in CB's and a QB. Let Tony Romo get some healthy battles rfrom some new veterans at QB. then hire a GM. ... Jerry Jones must go sit down and enjoy the game, not destroy the game... I am tired of seeing the owner on the sidelines. He is like a spoiled kidd that figures "its my team" and i will go down on the field if i want...
