Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said he hasn’t spoken with receiver Dez Bryant since he got into a fight Sunday at a Miami night club with rapper Lil Wayne and his entourage over an unpaid debt.
But Garrett said people in the Cowboys organization have spoken with Bryant. And while they want him to be careful and handle things the right way off they field, they remain supportive.
“We want to make sure our players do the things the right way 365 days out of the year,” Garrett said. “We understand the nature of the position we are all in. We have to be careful and handle things the right way. We certainly support him in all that he does.”
Garrett is not concerned that the incident in Miami was a precursor of things to come for Bryant during the off season. As unlike last year when Bryant was part of several incidents during the lockout, there is no work stoppage in 2012 and he will soon part of a full off season program to give structure.
