They've made a small ripple with the signing of Kyle Orton and have filled a need at guard with a player they apparently like in Mackenzy Bernadeau. But Brandon Carr is the name every Cowboy fan is waiting to hear.
The Cowboys are close to signing Carr, who still is at Valley Ranch, according to a source. A deal is expected today.
The Cowboys rolled out the red carpet for the former Kansas City Chief on Tuesday night at Cowboys Stadium. He has been their top target in free agency, a replacement for Terence Newman. Newman was released Tuesday to save the team $6 million in salary cap space.
In four seasons, Carr has made 237 tackles, eight interceptions and 65 pass breakups.
