Morris Claiborne and his family spent Friday visiting Valley Ranch after flying in from New York City. They talked to reporters and were planning to return to Shreveport that afternoon.
Just about everyone in the family is a Cowboys fan, so the tour of the facilities was a treat.
“Once I got that call, it was like everything came back to me, all the hard work I put into it, all the time that I put into it, and just looking at my family knowing that they’re the biggest Cowboys fans ever,” Claiborne said. “Just looking at their faces made me tear up.”
In his press conference, Claiborne, who had surgery to repair ligament damage in his left wrist, said he will wear the hard cast for two more weeks then have the pins taken out and move into a soft cast for two more weeks.
He is not expected to practice in the first rookie minicamp next week, coach Jason Garrett said. The Cowboys expect him to be ready for training camp.
