Quarterback Rudy Carpenter is back with the Cowboys, another threat to Stephen McGee's roster spot

The Cowboys have not only brought a quarterback in front of Stephen McGee to be the primary backup to Tony Romo in the form of Kyle Orton but they have now added a quarterback who could potentially push McGee off the roster.

The Cowboys re-acquired Rudy Carpenter off waivers from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday.

Carpenter signed with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in 2009. He was released after training camp as the Cowboys kept McGee, a 2009 fourth-round pick, on the roster. Carpenter was signed to the practice squad and stayed their until Nov. 23 when he signed by the Buccaneers.

He has spent the past two seasons floating between the Tampa Bay practice squad and active roster.

@ DENNY O'BRIEN_OH MY GOD YOU I NEED TO YOU TO TELL ME SOMETHING. WHEN ARE YOU ROMO HATERS GOING TO COME UP WITH A CLEAR ARGUMENT FOR WHY ROMO SUCKS. HE HAS HIS BEST YEAR AND STILL ITS HE BLOWS THE BIG GAME. I ONLY SAW ONE GAME THAT TONY MAY HAVE COST US. YOU TAKE AWAY THE THREE INTS HE THREW IN SAID GAME AND HE HAD ONLY SEVEN PICKS. HE HAD A CRAP O-LINE AND A INJURY PLAGUED RECIEVING CORP AND STILL PLAYED LIKE A ELITE QB. ONLY THREE QB'S HAD BETTER RATINGS THAN ROMO AND THEY HAVE MIORE TALENT AROND THEM. RODGERS BRADY AND BREES.

yo jerry jones i know you want to improve the cowboys to be a winner i would love to see that to but if you keep tony romo you can kiss your season goodbye you know he chokes in big games that matters and he would never lead the cowboys to a superbowl sorry on the good side though he would make a good back up instead of starter you should either start steven mcgee or rudy carpenter to see what you have with them they need to use their talents.

That's just great! Dallas is as bad as Houston, as far as getting rid of good players. With a little more work, McGee will be better than Romo ever thought about being. Trade Romo and allow a GOOD QB to stay with the Cowboys.

And this story about Carpenter is important why?

Just another dead-beat like all the other losers they bring in each year. If he had any potential I would think that they would never would released him but then again how many players have been with Dallas and then return years later? Seem like hundreds.
