The Cowboys chose not to re-sign safety Abe Elam, and the free agent signed with Kansas City on Monday. Elam, who signed a one-year deal with the Cowboys as a free agent in 2011, started all 16 games at strong safety and made 79 tackles with no interceptions and no pass breakups.
The Cowboys signed Brodney Pool in free agency before drafting Matt Johnson in the fourth round in April. Johnson had 17 career interceptions at Eastern Washington. Pool and Johnson are expected to compete for the starting free safety spot, with Gerald Sensabugh moving back to strong safety.
Both Elam and Pool had previous ties to defensive coordinator Rob Ryan.

I wholeheartedly agree with the previous posters....
Startlegram is doing nothing more than recycling other peoples' junk. There is no reporting taking place or journalistic effort being made here.

I want to hear how the rookies are doing in practice, what jason garrett intends to do differently this season in close games, how Sean Lee's hand is, and maybe some analysis of all the games on the schedule, or something...
