Cornerback Mike Jenkins will likely start training camp on the physically unable to perform list, according to vice president Stephen Jones.
Jenkins, who is back with the Cowboys for minicamp after boycotting the offseason program and asking for a trade, is still rehabbing from a complicated shoulder surgery.
Jones doesn’t know if Jenkins will stick around the team’s Valley Ranch training complex to continue rehabbing once the mandatory minicamp ends.
Jones said the team has encouraged him to stay here but doesn’t know if he will.
“You’ll have to ask him,” Jones said.”
But Jenkins is required to report early for training camp with the rest of the rookies and injured guys.
Jones said guard Mackenzy Bernadeau (hip) and receiver Danny Coale (foot) may also start camp on the PUP list. He expects the rest of injured guys who have missed minicamp to be ready for training camp including, running back Felix Jones (shoulder), linebackers Dan Connor (shoulder), Alex Albright (shoulder) and Kyle Wilbur (finger), safety Gerald Sensabaugh (knee), defensive end Tyrone Crawford (calf), defensive end Sean Lissemore (ribs), quarterback Kyle Orton (hamstring) and nose tackle Jay Ratliff (foot).
Linebacker Anthony Spencer missed practice on Wednesday and will be held out of the final day of workouts with a sore knee. But he should be ready for training camp as well.
