The Cowboys announced the signing three draft picks and veteran offensive tackle Pat McQustan on Monday, the eve of a three-day mandatory minicamp.
Fifth-round pick Danny Coale, a receiver from Virginia Tech; sixth-round pick James Hanna, a tight end from Oklahoma; and seventh-round pick Caleb McSurdy, a linebacker from Montana, were signed. That leaves four picks unsigned -- first-rounder Morris Claiborne, third-rounder Tyrone Crawford and fourth-rounders Kyle Wilber and Matt Johnson.
The 6-foot-6, 319-pound McQuistan returns to the Cowboys after two years away. He was a seventh-round selection 2006 out of Weber State, and he appeared in 40 games with the Cowboys, including every game in 2007 and 2008. The Cowboys traded him to Miami in 2010, and he played in eight games for the Dolphins. He spent 2011 with the New Orleans Saints, appearing in 10 games.
McQuistan, 29, gives the Cowboys a veteran backup behind starters Tyron Smith and Doug Free.
The Cowboys start a three-day minicamp on Tuesday. They'll meet again in training camp in Oxnard, Calif., on July 30, but the rookies and selected veterans will have three days of work the week before at Valley Ranch before leaving for camp.
