Bernadeau also recovering from knee surgery, plus other Cowboys notes

A few other tidbits from Sunday’s press conference at Cowboys training camp:

In addition to hip surgery, Mackenzy Bernadeau had minor knee surgery in the offseason, Jason Garrett said.

On the league and referee negotiations, Jerry Jones said he believes the league will have “high-quality officiating that will not impact the safety of the players and that will create a competitive situation between all the teams.”

Garrett tried to get the NFL to give the Cowboys an earlier start to training camp but that the league had “more pressing issues” to tend to. “But he gave it the try you expect from Jason,” Jones said.
