Tyron Smith says he's benefited from being coached by Houck, Callahan already

Tyron Smith said he has benefited already in his young career from having been coached by Hudson Houck and Bill Callahan, two respected NFL offensive line coaches.

“It’s a different technique with Bill than what Hud used to teach us. But just having both of those guys coach me up has helped me a lot,” Smith said Tuesday at the Cowboys’ training camp in Oxnard.

Smith enters his second year with the Cowboys as the new starter at left tackle, after starting all 16 games last year at right tackle.

He said he retained everything from last year and the offseason and is ready for more work.

“It’s going to be good. Just to get back into the motion, just being more attentive, just basically knowing what I have to get done,” he said.
