The Cowboys said offensive lineman Mackenzy Bernadeau passed his physical.
Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said right now, the biggest challenge for the guard is being in practice shape.
“The thing is that he had a hip injury, but he also that hat knee scoped toward the end of the offseason,” Garrett said. “So he’s dealing with both of those things. But the biggest thing with him is conditioning and getting himself back into football shape.”
Bernadeau was one of the Cowboys' two free-agent guard signings. He was installed as the starter at right guard in the spring, but he had hip surgery and didn't practice.
"He did some of the running yesterday, and he's making progress and getting better," Garrett said.
